ULTIMATE SUEHIRO MARUO TATTOO?

Longtime reader and Suehiro Maruo superfan Suzanne just sent us pics of her RIDICULOUSLY AWESOME tattoos. For her sleeve piece, Suzanne worked to carefully compile images from a number of Suehiro Maruo works, including panels from The Laughing Vampire and illustration work featured in his Maruograph art books.

If you can believe it, she says it's still an in-progress piece, with further details to be added to her arm(!!). The tattoo artist was Piotrek Taton at Good Times in London.

Suzanne, and our previously-mentioned friend Beth... you are the queens of Maruo fandom!

Thank you for your posting.
I knew Suehiro Maruo and Kargo shintaro in your blog. They are amazing too.

Nice armpit shot too :-P
Suzanne is the only person that convinces me into thinking getting inked is a good idea. Her tats are to die for.

wow! really impressive! it's not easy to mimic Maruo's style, but the tattoo artists did (is doing) a great job!

Thank you so much, everyone!

I knew either Gea or Substrom would mention the armpit. *sigh* :)

As I told Ryan before, the reason why I waited so long to reveal this (my last appointment was in November) is that I wasn't looking forward to the (justified) reaction of purists in the Maruo community and was worried that I might have mashed together way too much imagery when it's really something that had crystallized itself over many, many years and solidified my love for The Laughing Vampire - the book my Maruo love began with when I first discovered his work at the Fumetto Comics Festival.

So yeah, I'm glad it's understood here (correctly) as an ode of a (sad) fan.

Thanks again for posting this, Ryan, it's a great honour to be part of the tattoo gallery here.

*takes a bow and stretches out her arm so you can all kiss it*

:)

This is just so stupid. Uhmg. She could wear a Maruo T-Shirt instead, no? lol I'm a huge fan of this guy as well but this is just too much. Also, her friend's tatto is just aweful. Are you people blind?
But yeah, RESPECT ;D

You make very little sense, anon, and I couldn't care less about your orthographically challenged ramblings, but who do you mean with my "friend's tatto"?
