(IT'S FINALLY FINISHED!)
After many busy weeks and months, we're EXTREMELY pleased to present a new Yoshida Sensha scanlation! As many of you know, bringing Uncle Sensha to English audiences was our original mandate for starting this blog, and so we're geeked to get back to our gag strip roots.
That said, this comic (translated by yours truly, lettered and touched-up immaculately by Evan, per usual) takes Yoshida Sensha's yon-koma sensibilities to previously unknown scales. How can you argue with 19 pages of loincloths, monkeys, muskets, fastballs and curveballs? (Answer: YOU CAN'T). Please enjoy, and let us know what you think in the comments!

As always, please read from right-to-left!

(Pssst, Click here for all previous scanlations of Yoshida Sensha's work we've done!)
Evan here...REJOICE! The technical problems have been fixed and all of our scanlations are back online. Plus, they all look prettier now, as I fixed the contrast on all the ones that had pixel crud / ghosts (from a previously out-of-calibration monitor.)
So if you missed any of the stuff we've translated so far, take another look at our 2 year anniversary recap megapost that went up just before the server problems. We have a much higher bandwidth now that we've changed hosting providers, so the site should be nice and stable from now on... Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more fun!
Our latest scanlation is something slightly different for us-- Honey #3: a 16-panel gag comic by Yoshida Sensha!
All the awesomeness of previous Sensha scanlations but this time with 4x the fun...er, panels! It is the third installment in a series of unrelated gag strips, taken from a book Nate brought us from Japan a while back. Hope you enjoy!as usual, please read each panel from right-to-left.
Click here (or the image above) for the strip!
This thing has been a LONG time in the works. We went over and over the translation, editing, touch-up and lettering, and I hope it shows. (Evan did an AWESOME job on getting the fonts, formatting and touch-up just right).
We are very proud to finally get some Junji Ito representation on Same Hat. If you weren't aware, Ito is one of our absolute favorite horror manga writer/artists, and we want to add to the growing stack of his comics available in English! Please pass this link on to your cool friends, and leave feedback in the comments!! (Also, a special THANKS to Nate for helping with some of the gnarly translation points, and Alice for editing and transcribing my illegible, handwritten notes!)PLEASE ENJOY!! HAPPY 2006 FANBOYS & FANGIRLS!
Evan and I celebrated with a bout of Warriors head-to-head on PS2, Rock 'N' Roll High School and lots of junk food. wheeeee! Here's to another year of comic depravity, hilarity and ... obscurity? Looking to bring out shorts by Suehiro Maruo (lord, he's the patron saint of Samehat), Junji Ito and some fresh blood, more original horror and gag comics by us and our friends, etc. etc. SO MANY IDEAS, just gotta work on the whole 'execution and follow through' part of the process. FRESH MEAT OFF THE BURGER PRESSES:1. NEW COMIC by AARON KMARTIAN FLANEURAnother gem by our friend-- this one, a 5-pager about hanging out on Mars.
2. UNCLE MARUO on the cover of JUXTAPOZNEW ISSUE
The entire issue is a pretty weak rehash of the Japanese art/comics/graffito scene of like 2 or 3 years ago... and the Maruo article doesn't offer any new details, but it's worth the cover price for the superlovely full spreads of Maruo paintings and panels. Plus you get two short articles on Chiho Aoshima & Hysteric Glamour. But jeez, seems like Juxtapoz is biting Giant Robot's layout slightly in this issue as well. Even with their johnny-come-lately take, it's always nice to get more Maruo in print! 3. NEW KOJI AIHARA STRIP!as usual, please read from right-to-left.

enjoy!
We're happy to post the first of three chapters of Suehiro Maruo's "Poison Strawberry." Please visit the links at the bottom of the post to read the next two chapters. Evan did a radical job on the lettering and touch-up, and it's the comic we're most proud of to date.
Just to note -- This is Maruo we're talking about, so the usual MATURE VIEWERS ONLY warning applies in spades! PLEASE ENJOY!

NEW GAG COMICS by Koji AiharaHere is the first of a bunch of short strips by a weirdo manga artist we like. Straying from the absurd Sensha stuff into more... colorful pastures (read: BODY HUMOR!!). We're talking: Grandpa farting on his deathbed, a dying warrior seeing a cow shitting as his last earthly moment, highschool boys begging for a peek at their gf's nekopai's-- you know, the USUAL STUFF.We'll do our damnedest to translate these as smoothly as possible; I've already put in extra hours looking up the precise term for various types of farts, and Evan's is sharpening his WACOM sylus to be sure we get those wanking off sound effects just right. As always, any kind of comments/suggestions are VERY appreciated by both of us. ENJOY!as usual, please read from right-to-left.
