One more for the books... Anonymous K has sent us what might be his best Shintaro Kago scanlation yet. The Memories of Others includes some of the craziest and detailed layouts (and storytelling devices) we've seen. And it has to be said, Anonymous K has some serious translation and production skills.
Like Multiplication, Abstraction and Blow-Up, TMOO is experimental and deconstructs the paneled page, but here Kago mixes in more narrative oomph and pathos than with the previous three.
Per usual, this comic is mind-bending, fucked up, and NSFW for sexual situations and some nudity.
ENJOY! (and read pages from right-to-left, as usual)

hey awesome man, but i want you to know that the first page (169.jpg) is missing :)
Fixed! Sorry about that :)
SHINTARO! THE MASTER!
Larve it.
I'm not sure which out of the four has been my favourite so far, but this one's certainley a contender.
Is that the last of the lot ?
I have been pondering the idea of shelling out a rather obscene amount for Ultra Gash Inferno.
I was just wondering, a.) What's peoples' opinons on it ? b.) Is there any chance it will ever be reprinted ? and c.) errrrm........ no, just a.) and b.) for now.
Thanks.
Ultra Gash Inferno is alright, but it definitely delves directly into Maruo's most perverse fetishes. It's more extreme and less rewarding than Mr. Arashi's Amazing Freakshow.
In the comments to the previous update a fellow posted a link to where you can download not only Ultra Gash Inferno to sample it, but many other Maruo books translated into English :)
I still really do hope somebody out there has done scanlations of Kazuichi Hanawa's untranslated medieval atrocities... now that is a very talented (and perverse) artist!
Thanks cyphane.
I much prefer Maruo's short stories and I think it's definately one of his better collections (and with Rose Coloured Monster and New National Kid)
I read The Laughing Vampire again, but try as I might. I just can't get into it.
After all the years, I still pull out ultra gash to read "Nonresistance City"... it's a rather long piece which kicks serious ass. The rest is the equivalent of a rollercoaster with no stops...
shintaro kago is so cool!
and i really like that poison strawberry stuff too (who was it....suehiro...!)
(ps thanks for all this, i really love this blog)
brilliant as usual!
btw, long time no post - hope you'' post something new soon!
great blog!
Anonymous K didn't typeset that fyi
I did
@anonymous: Oh really? I didn't know-- how should I credit you? (send me an email)
I would like to know the year of release of this manga.
Thanks
